If you kept abreast with the latest development in AI, you might have noticed that machine translation has progressed so much that even professional human translators use it as the first draft. I can personally testify it as a polyglot and NLP practitioner the qualitative difference I see in machine translation services like Google Translate. So, given that language acquisition takes a lot of time and effort, does it make sense to learn a foreign language when free machine translation AI services are available?
