How to make good presentations
Here are the steps that I learned to follow to make good presentations over the years
In my life, I made quite a lot of presentations, speeches, and seminars. The size of the audience varied from a few hundred to a handful. I do not claim to be an expert in public speaking or presentations, but I acquired a few tips over the years that served me well. Here are my steps and tips.
Step1: Ideation
For any kind of public presentation, you usually have at least a month to prepare. You are usually contacted by the organizer about a topic. Your first step is to gather some ideas and data for the topic.
At this phase, do not limit your search only to the specific topic you chose. Look broadly and widely. Consider this step as a self-brainstorming. The first rule in any brainstorming session is not to cut or criticize any ideas. Write your ideas down and save your data in an organized manner.
For technical presentations, you should be familiar with the latest trends and how your topic matters to the audience. To make my material relevant and also to draw the attention of the audience, I usually search news articles…
