You do not need New Year’s resolutions to be healthy. Here are my tips.

It is that time of the year again when the initial New Year’s resolutions might be replaced with failures, disappointments, and rationalization. As an encouragement, I am sharing my tips for a healthy life.

My advice is very simple. If you want a healthy life, your lifestyle needs to be healthy. Here are the healthy lifestyle rules I live by.

1. Run to life

I was not a runner when I was young. I even hated exercising and I was bad at sports. I was weak and would often get sick.

During my graduate school years, however, I had some major health crises. I was living abroad by myself for the first time at that time and I did not know what to do to have a healthy life.

I did not eat well I did not exercise and was quite stressed out by the study load. The end result was that my vision became poor and I suffered from insomnia and depression.

I had to get glasses for the first time in my life and I had to change my diet too (more on this next). Then I started putting myself into a regular exercise regimen. I picked up racket sports like tennis, racketball, and squash. Playing these sports kept me in shape and they became one of the ways to make friends.
